Over the next week I will put together the cards and the tin.

I will share with you each of the card designs as well as my thoughts on the project.

So far just looking at the project up close I think it s a great addition to any stampers craft room.

I know that for me, even when I am stamping all the time it seems that when I NEED a card I don’t have one handy.

I also know that when I really need a card I also don’t have time to create one from scratch.

This kit fixes that problem, not only does it have everything you need to create a card quick it has a place to keep cards for those unexpected occasions.

Stay tuned to see the cards made from this kit and the project inspired by this kit.

I Had a Brilliant Idea

Okay maybe not brilliant, but I was pretty proud of myself!

A few weeks ago we had a small craft fair that turned out to be the best one ever

I sold some stuff and bought way more, lol

That is the nature of these craft fairs that my group does

Anyway, Kristy Eskew was sitting next to me and she sells Scentsy

You can see her Beautiful and really good smelling stuff on her Scentsy website

She has this wax warmer that has magnetic frames you can put photos in

She also has decorative frames that will fit into the space on the front of the warmer

Here is a picture of one of the decorative frames you can get

Scentsy Butterfly frame

Now for my Brilliant Idea

The other frame is a picture frame and since they are magnetic I can change them out whenever I want

So, my brilliant idea was to create a stamped image on vellum to put in the picture frame

I can make new ones and change them whenever the mood strikes me

Here is my first picture:

Close up of scentsy picture

I tried a lot of different styles and techniques like shimmer and glitter but in the end because of the amount of light behind it they all were washed out

What looked the best was Stampin’ Up!’s Stampin Write Markers

Here is a couple of pictures of the whole Scentsy warmer and with the light on:

Do you have an idea that you thought was brilliant?

Leave me a comment and tell me about it, I might be able to try it and blog about it

Water Coloring with Ink Pads

Today’s technique is water coloring with your Stampin’ Up! ink pads

The supplies need to do this technique are:

An ink pad – Shop here

An Aqua Painter #103954

Glossy Paper # 101910

Start by pressing down on the lid of your ink pad while closed this will create a pool of ink on the lid

Ink pool padOnce you have done that you can pick up the color with your aqua painter and water color on the glossy card stock

I didn’t have any glossy paper on hand so I used vellum which also has a slick surface

Watercolor on vellumThe more water you use the more it will flow together and blend the colors

Here is a technique by Carrie Cudney of Stampin’ Up! this technique can be used the same way as above

Try this technique and tell me what you think!

HELP JOSIE GET 20,000 BUTTERFLIES by September 1, 2013

Josie Harris is a 4 year old girl who was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.
She has been getting Chemo Therapy and has been spending a lot of her time at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Josie will be in and out of Children’s for the next 2-3 years getting chemo, every other week
Along with her mother, Andrea Nicolas, big brother, Dominic, big sister, Kyli, big sister Hailey Harris and her father, Jesse, Josie is planning to fight this with all she has.
We will be hanging these butterflies all over her room to show her how much she is loved every day by so many, a reminder we will always have of Josie.

Here’s the info you need:
1. The butterflies need to be 4 inches by 4 inches (4″x4″).
2. You can decorate however you want; stickers, coloring or, any other way you can think of!
3. Be sure to add your name, and where you are from to the butterflies so Josie knows who is sending her love
4. Share this with a friend and spread the word to share the love!
5. Here’s the address:
